Quilters Guild
The Bitterroot Quilters Guild will hold its monthly meeting on Wednesday, February 26, at 6:30 p.m. in the Daly Leach Community Room, 1010 W. Main St., Hamilton. This is a special meeting celebrating 30 years. In honor of this anniversary there will be a Guild Reunion for all current and former members. There will be socializing, Show and Tell, and refreshments. The Guild scrapbooks will be on display to see how quilting (and the club) has changed over the years. Guests are always welcome. BPL Lego Club
Lego Club will meet Thursday, February 27 at the Bitterroot Public Library. Lego Club meets from 3:30 to 5 p.m. on the second and fourth Thursdays of the month. Lego lovers ages 4-10, accompanied by a parent, are invited to create and build with Legos in the Meeting Room of the Bitterroot Public Library. Legos are provided, and the program is free.
Natural History Lecture Series
The next presentation in the Natural History Lecture Series at the Ravalli County Museum will be held Thursday, February 27 at 6 p.m. The speaker will be FWP fisheries biologist Chris Clancy, speaking on “Fish and Fire.” Get a closer look at the environment we all live in through a lecture series presented by dedicated individuals in the field. On March 7, Liz Bradley will speak about “Wolf Studies” and on Thursday, April 17, Amy Cilimburg will talk on

Sleeping Child Hot Springs for All
Sleeping Child Hot Springs for All will meet Thursday, February 27 at 6:30 p.m. at Daly Leach Chapel Meeting Room, 1010 W Main Street, Hamilton. This will be the third organizational meeting for people interested in working toward acquiring and opening Sleeping Child Hot Springs to the public. Sleeping Child Hot Springs is an historic cultural and magical place that needs to belong to the people and to be accessible to all. People are needed who might be willing to serve on a nominating committee for a board of directors. Plans have been set in motion to become a non-profit trust and to write a business plan. Trout Unlimited Pint Night
The second annual Bitter Root Trout Unlimited Pint Night will be Thursday, February 27 starting at 4 p.m. at Higherground Brewing in Hamilton. There will be drawings, door prizes and silent auction. BPL Story Time for Kids
Young children are invited to meet in the children’s corner of the Bitterroot Public Library on Friday, February 28 to enjoy “Dragons” theme with storyteller Paula Prescott. Hear great stories and try some activities and crafts! Story time begins at 10:30 a.m. and is designed for children 3-5 years of age. All story times are free and open to the public.
MDMH blood drive
The American Red Cross strives to collect over 700 pints of blood to meet the needs of patients in this area alone. In the Montana service area every 27 minutes someone needs blood. Marcus Daly Memorial Hospital (MDMH) helps the American Red Cross meet this need by sponsoring blood drives four times a year. The first blood drive for this year is on Thursday, February 27 from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the hospital conference rooms B/C. The remaining 2014 MDMH blood drives are on May 22, July 17 and October 23. To schedule your blood drive appointments, call Gary Schulz at 375-4451. Pollinator Weekend
Pollinator Weekend will be held Friday and Saturday, February 28 and March 1 at Sam’s Spade, 111 S. 4th in Hamilton. Help bring your garden and landscape into balance by enlisting the help of pollinators and other beneficial insects. Learn the importance of pollinators, practices that threaten their populations and ways you can encourage them to work for you in your landscape. Create beauty, balance and a bountiful garden when you learn to identify, attract and appreciate these little creatures. On Friday, join in the construction of a multi level Pollinator Tower. On Saturday, there will be presentations by Beekeepers of the Bitterroot, Sam’s Spade Garden Tools
and Wares, and by Robin Taylor from the Bitterroot National Forest from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. The event is free and family-friendly.

Calling all animal lovers to the Ravalli County Museum, 205 Bedford, Hamilton on Saturday, March 1 from 10 to 12 noon for “Animal Tales: Amazing Animal Adaptations” with Animal Wonders, Inc. Hear incredible survival stories of animals from around the world. Whipping tails, anti-venom, flight, and other extraordinary fur, feathers and scales! Dances of Universal Peace
Dances of Universal Peace will be held Saturday, March 1, with a potluck at 6 p.m., and the Dances at 7 at the Center for Spiritual Living at 1720 N. 1st Street, Selway Commons, north of Sears in Hamilton. The Dances of Universal Peace and Walking Meditations are spiritual practice in motion. Mindfulness class
Time Out is offering an evening class, “Mindfulness: It’s the Real Thing, on Monday, March 3, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Common Ground Center, 260 Roosevelt Lane, Hamilton. Mindfulness is the art of accessing the present moment for stress reduction, deeper awareness of life and to develop gratitude. It is helpful in physical ailments such as blood pressure, anxiety, and hyper activity. Learn to power down the internal urge to keep in constant touch with stressful thoughts and electronic messaging. Learn mindfulness practices, breathing exercises and some tai chi. St. Paul’s Pancake Supper
St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 600 S. Third Street in Hamilton, will be celebrating Shrove Tuesday, March 4, with its traditional Pancake Supper from 5 to 7 p.m. in the basement of the church. The menu includes all you can eat pancakes, sausage, ham, juice, coffee, and tea. Cost is $5.00 for adults and $2.50 for children age 5. Family rate is $15.00. Shrove Tuesday is the day before the season of Lent, which begins on Ash Wednesday. The pancake supper tradition honors the custom of using up all milk, eggs, and fat in a household on Shrove Tuesday, as these were not allowed in the strict fasting of Lent. The ingredients were made into pancakes, a meal which came to symbolize preparation for the discipline of Lent. Proceeds will benefit Grace Camp. Grace Camp is a free program for children of incarcerated parents.
Fly Fishers of the Bitterroot
Fly Fishers of the Bitterroot will meet Tuesday, March 4, at BJ’s Restaurant in Hamilton.
Social hour is 6 to 7 p.m. with cocktails and dinner optional. The meeting starts at 7 p.m. with guest speaker John Geer. John has worked in the fly fishing industry for 15 years and has been an avid tenkara angler (a simple Japanese method of fly fishing) and studied under Daniel Galhardo, founder of Tenkara USA. John’s presentation will cover the history, the equipment, the benefits and techniques of tenkara.
