In the past week, there has been speculation as to why former head coach Keith Chambers has been back working with the Yellowjackets. When asked about it, he said he was helping out as one of the assistant coaches is having some health issues. “It’s not a reflection on Coach Wark, he’s doing a great job. He is the head coach. I’m just helping.”
Corvallis, Hamilton and Stevensville all fell in their games over the weekend. Corvallis and Hamilton had conference games while Stevensville took on Class AA defending state champion, Hellgate.
Corvallis lost to Butte Central, 75-51. A slow third quarter for the Blue Devils was the difference as they were held to only eight points in that stanza. Utah transfer Brigham Parrish had 14 points to pace the Devils.

Hamilton got off to a fast start and doubled the Dillon Beavers in the first quarter. However Beavers took control in the second quarter and held the Broncs to only three points and went on to win, 50-38. Kameron Kohn had 12 points to lead Hamilton.

Stevensville was host to Hellgate on Friday night. The two defending state champs have struggled a bit this year. Hellgate held a one point lead at the end of the first quarter but then went on a run in the second and third quarters and built a lead that the ‘Jackets could not overcome. Former Florence standout Rhett Baerlocher who now plays for Hellgate was injured and didn’t play. Stevensville was led by Jared Schultz’s 12 points. Chance Coleman added 11.
