They are not the run and gun team they’ve been in the past couple of years, although they have their moments. They do not play the slow, deliberate game of several years ago. This year’s Lady Falcons are looking for their identity. They have moments of speed and precision. But those are sometimes followed by a lack of focus on the game. There is only one returning starter, Megan Byrne, from last year’s team, although Carli O’Brien and Hailey Huot did see some time on varsity last year.
On Thursday, the Lady Falcons took on Loyola. Florence got off to a slow start and never really found their range. O’Brien led the scoring with 13 points. Nikki Schurg added 10 more.

Saturday, the Lady Falcons took on the Vals of Bigfork in non-conference action. The game was close throughout with it being tied at the half. Florence took a two point lead into the fourth quarter but Bigfork came back to take the win, 38-36. One encouraging note for Florence was the return of freshman Megan Kowalski who had gone down in the Loyola game with a leg injury.

Hamilton took on Dillon on Saturday afternoon. The Lady Broncs jumped out to an early lead and never looked back. They went on to win, 51-37. Taylor Goligoski had 21 points and Jaylee Albert dropped in 19. Kali Hayes had a strong defensive game, as did Bri Huggans. Sami Kratofil was a force in the middle.

Corvallis took on Butte Central in more conference action. The young Blue Devil team is steadily gaining confidence. Freshman Corrine Sanderson led the scoring with 15 points in the 44-32 loss to the Maroons.

Stevensville played Hellgate in non-conference action. The Knights defeated Stevensville, 52-30. Carly Sebastian had nine points in the loss.

Darby split their games over the weekend. The Lady Tigers lost to Seeley-Swan but then grouped and defeated Alberton.
Although Seeley only scored two point in the final period and Darby scored 13 points but they fell short and lost, 41-39. Lauren Dolcater scored 12 points to lead the Lady Tigers.

Darby topped Alberton, 57-12, on Saturday. Eight players scored for Darby with Lacey and Lauren Dolcater each scoring 12 and 10 points respectively.

Victor lost a close game in enemy territory on Friday in Philipsburg. The Lady Prospectors came from behind to win, 68-67. Victor held a six point lead at the end of the first quarter but then Philipsburg took the lead at the half by holding Victor to only eight points while scoring 19.

Victor took on one of the top teams in the Western C division on Saturday, Seeley-Swan. The Blackhawks jumped out to an early lead and never let Victor find their stride in the 65-36 loss. Coach Drew Huls said while his team didn’t show well on Saturday, they are coming together with more and more players scoring.
