G. John Moore

Victor – G. John Moore, 86, of Victor, passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2013 of natural causes.
He was born February 15, 1927 in Chicago, IL to David and Marion Moore. As a young boy he moved to Victor, MT and was raised with the Ben Hackett family and graduated from Victor public schools. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy on February 7, 1945, and was honorably discharged in 1946 before joining the National Guard and then the U.S. Army Reserves. He was a Lab Technician at the Rocky Mountain Laboratory starting in 1948 and retiring in 1982. He was the last surviving founding member of the Victor Fire Department. He was also a lifetime member of the Victor Masonic AF&AM Lodge #43. In 1948 he married Carol Gingerich and fathered three daughters. They were later divorced and he married Valerie Kretschmer who preceded him in death.
Survivors include daughters Sandra Pettit, Patte (Al) Widdifield and Luanne (Steve) Bauman. He is also survived by grandchildren Monica (Todd Johnson) Morlock and Lucas (Toni) Bauman and great grandchildren Kayla Johnson and Kennedi and Raigan Bauman. Other survivors include the Ben Hackett family of Prescott (Jeannine) Hackett, Delores (Jerry) Schumacher and Barbara (Bill) Stephani.
Family graveside Masonic Rite services will be held on Monday, November 25 at 1 p.m. at the Victor Cemetery.
The family suggests memorials to Victor Fire Department, PO Box 243, Victor MT 59875 or the Victor Senior Center, PO Box 35, Victor MT 59875.
