NOTICE
PUBLIC HEARING ON
THE STEVENSVILLE AIRPORT TARGETED ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT DISTRICT (TEDD)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Stevensville Town Council will hold a public hearing to consider adoption of the ordinance establishing the Stevensville Airport Targeted Economic Development District (TEDD) and adopting the Stevensville Airport TEDD Comprehensive Development Plan on Thursday, November 21, 2013, at 7:00 p.m. at 206 Buck Street, Stevensville, Montana.
The Town of Stevensville has decided to embark on a program to encourage aviation related secondary, value-adding industrial growth at the Stevensville Airport by providing a financial mechanism to install necessary infrastructure improvements as authorized by Montana’s Urban Renewal Law (7-15-4201 et. Seq.). The Town plans to utilize Tax Increment Financing (TlF) in conjunction with other funding sources to fostering the development of secondary, value adding industries within the proposed Stevensville Airport TEDD as part of its overall mission to promote economic development, to improve area employment opportunities and to expand the community’s base. As revenues permit, Stevensville intends to issue tax increment financing bonds in support of these activities.
The Stevensville Airport property is 174.0+/- acres generally located south of the intersection of Airport Road and Flying Lane, in Section 13 and 24, Township 9 North, Range 20 West, Section 19 and 30, Township 9 North, Range 19 West, PMM; Town of Stevensville, Ravalli County, Montana.
All interested persons will be given the opportunity to comment on the proposed ordinance.
Comments may be given orally at the meeting or submitted in writing mailed to Town Clerk, P.O. Box 30, Stevensville MT 59870.
For additional information, contact Julie Foster, Ravalli County Economic Development Authority, 274 Old Corvallis Rd. Suite A, Hamilton, MT 59840, 406-375-9416. The ordinance may be reviewed at 206 Buck Street, Stevensville, Montana.
