The Corvallis Blue Devils picked up their first win in two seasons on Friday. The Devils defeated Anaconda, 20-14, in Southwest A action. Quarterback Jayce Gilder hit Tayler Sylvester from 16 yards out for the first Blue Devil touchdown. Gilder completed six of 18 passes in the game including 89 yards to Sylvester. Gunnar Fairbrother pushed through from six yards out for the second Corvallis touchdown. The Blue Devils held the Copperheads scoreless in the first half. Corvallis scored once more when Fairbrother picked up an Anaconda fumble and raced 57 yards for the score. Cameron Ayers kicked two of three PATs for Corvallis.
Hamilton lost to the No. 1 ranked team in the state, Dillon, 49-10. Karille Appendaile put Hamilton on the scoreboard first with a 37-yard field goal. The Broncs’ only other score was an 11-yard touchdown pass from Josh Bauder to Teague Blome.
Stevensville fell to Butte Central, 45-14. Zach Gavlak caught an 11-yard pass from Jared Schultz for the first touchdown. The second ‘Jacket touchdown was a seven yard run by Kyle Behner. Bryce Torrey made the two-point conversion good.
Darby lost to Philipsburg, 50-20. Garrett McCormack caught a 64-yard pass from Joe Caicedo for the first score. Caicedo also had two scoring runs of 37 yards each for the other two touchdowns.
Florence lost to Deer Lodge, and Victor was idle.
