Hamilton and Corvallis went east of the mountains to open their 2013 soccer season. Hamilton took on Belgrade while Corvallis went to Livingston. The season will hit full swing this week.

Hamilton’s girl’s team clobbered Belgrade, 5-0. Senior Sami Kratofil hit the net first at the six-minute mark. Kendal Gordon took a Reilly Rostad assist in for the next goal at 26 minutes. Just a minute later, Lillia Moore had an unassisted goal for the Broncs. Moore scored again in the 69th minute. With two minutes left, Laramie Schara hit an unassisted goal for Hamilton. Hamilton had 19 shots on goal while Belgrade had eight. Schara had three saves.

The Hamilton boys’ team lost to Belgrade, 4-2. The two teams traded goals until the 56th minute when Belgrade scored to take the lead. Hamilton’s David Feldmann scored an unassisted goal at the 15-minute mark. He hit the second Bronc goal at 24 minutes. Hamilton took 8 shots while Belgrade had 16 shots.

Corvallis’ girls tied with Livingston, 2-2. Livingston took the lead with an early goal and then hit another goal at 35 minutes. But then Corvallis caught fire when Katie Landis took a Hailey Mason assist at the 56th minute to hit the net. Corinne Sanderson scored on a free kick with two minutes remaining in the match. Corvallis took four shots on goal while Livingston had 12 shots. Roxy Rademacher had six saves and Kira Doyle had five saves for Corvallis.

The Corvallis boys defeated Livingston, 2-1. Livingston scored first but the Blue Devils held the Rangers to that lone goal. Josh Venema scored in the 77th minute off of a Kaiam Syester assist. Cayden Ayers scored again a minute later. Emmett Semple had the assist. Shelby Gifford had eight saves for the Blue Devils who took 11 shots on goal.
