As part of the American Legion Color Guard at Saturday’s Creamery Picnic parade in Stevensville, I was disheartened at the number of men who did not remove their caps as the American Flag went by. This simple gesture has nothing to do with politics, Congress, presidents, etc. It is simply an expression of our respect for our great country.
So please, the next time “Old Glory” goes by, show your respect by removing your cap, if for no other reason than a thank you to all the hundreds of thousands who have given their all so that we could be free. It’s a very simple expression of thanks but with lots of meaning.
