John Carbin slipped away quietly and peacefully, just before dawn on Friday, May 31, 2013. He was born in Arlington, Massachusetts on March 13, 1928, and grew up in nearby Melrose. John was preceded in death by his parents Catherine and Thomas Carbin, his sister Peggy (Bob) McHugh, and by his brothers Tom (Grace), Joe, Ed and Bill Carbin. he is survived by his wife Ann Marie, his sister Nell Carbin, and his brothers Kevin, George (Kay) and Dick (Eileen). Survivors include many nieces and nephews, and his foster sons and daughter who still call him Dad: Moukda, Phan, Tha and Yong.
John lived in many different places over the years and met countless people who found in him a very good friend. He considered family, friends, faith, and a good vegetable garden his true fortune.
A Vigil was held at St. Mary’s in Stevensville on Tuesday, June 4. The funeral Mass will be concelebrated by Father Matt Huber and Father Mike Smith on Wednesday, June 5 at 11 a.m., also at St. Mary’s
