The annual Bob Reed Ravalli County Invitational track meet was held Saturday at the CCEC track in Corvallis. This meet featured the six valley schools plus Loyola. The winds were a bit rough some of the time and created strong headwinds or tailwinds. Some of the stronger athletes only competed in a couple of events, preferring to rest a bit before district and divisional meets in a couple of weeks.
The Corvallis girls’ 4×400 relay team won that race with a 12 second margin. Sadi Henderson of Corvallis who has been seeing limited time due to a minor injury came back with a roar in the 800, winning by four seconds. Ayden Eickhoff won the 400 and the 3,200. Lakyn Connors easily maneuvered the 300 hurdles, winning by more than 14 seconds. She also won the long jump. Carlie Jessop was also a double winner for the Blue Devils. She won the shot put and the discus. Kaitlyn Frost won the pole vault and nearly took the 200. Kayla Lewis once again claimed first in the javelin. ON the boys’ side, Brandon Butt won the discus and Tyler Olson won the javelin. The 4×400 relay team won that race.
Florence’s Hannah Porch was a double winner in the sprints, claiming first both the 100 and the 200. She also placed in the long jump and the triple jump. Brady Heffner won the 100 and Carter Brady took the 400 for the Falcons. Madison Bolton won the 800.
Katie Malachinski of Stevensville won the high jump and was second in the triple jump. On the boys’ side for Stevensville, sophomore Daniel Pendergast took first in the 200. Chris Lords won the high jump.
Hamilton’s Anthony Schmalz won both the 1,600 and the 3,200 races. Annika Moore won the girls’ triple jump for Hamilton.
Victor’s Kyle Ball took first in the long jump and the triple jump. He also finished second in the 300 hurdles. Bryce Krout won the pole vault.
