Obituary – Raffik Kalamian Walsh

April 23, 2013 by Editor

Raffik Kalamian Walsh, 13, died April 17 at his home in Hamilton in the arms of his parents, Miriam (Mimi) Kalamian and Peter Walsh. He was born in Armavir, Armenia and moved to Montana when he was two years old. He is also survived by his grandmother, Mary Kalamian, of Waterford, CT as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Raffi loved music, dancing, “bling” and sporty red convertibles. He loved “chillaxing” on warm sunny days and floating on his back at the hot springs. Raffi’s warm smile and engaging nature captured many a heart and he was happiest when he was surrounded by people who loved and cared for him. Raffi lit up when kids asked to sit next to him or when downtown shop owners welcomed him with a hug and a smile. These connections made a huge difference in Raffi’s life and were vital to him right up until his last moments.
Raffi will be deeply missed. A celebration of his life will be held at the Daly School Gym in Hamilton on Thursday, April 25, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Children and adults will have the opportunity to share their favorite memories of Raffi.
In lieu of flowers, Raffi’s parents ask that you consider a donation in Raffi’s name to the Big Sky Adventure Camp. This outdoor program for kids with cancer is supported entirely by donations and the coordinated efforts of many caring volunteers, most of them cancer survivors. Gifts may be mailed to Big Sky Kids, c/o Eagle Mount, 6901 Goldenstein Lane, Bozeman MT 59715, or made online at www.eaglemount.org.
Brothers Mortuary and Crematory is assisting the family. Condolences and memories may be shared with the family at www.brothersmortuary.com
