Stevensville took a road trip to Bozeman where they met up against a couple of teams from the east. Friday, the Yellowjackets played Laurel. The Stevensville boys blanked the Locomotives, 4-0. Payden Belcourt took a Sam Giese pass and hit the goal at the 25 minute mark to put Stevensville on the board. Giese then hit the net at 53 minutes off of a Joseph Daniels pass. Belcourt fed Micah Roberts the ball at 70 minutes for another goal. Belcourt was also in on the final goal. He fed Daniels the ball at 73 minutes for the point. Stevensville applied a lot of pressure on Laurel, taking 24 shots to their 11 shots. JJ O’Bannon had eight saves for Stevensville.
On Saturday, the Stevensville boys earned their first win ever over Billings Central, topping the Rams, 4-1. Stevensville came out attacking and got on the scoreboard early when Nicholas Jensen took a Giese pass and scored at the two-minute mark. Just 39 minutes later, Joseph Fecteau connected with Giese who booted another goal. Fectau scored an unassisted goal at 65 minutes and he scored the final goal, again unassisted, at 76 minutes. O’Bannon had four saves for Stevensville.
Billings Central topped Corvallis, 4-1, on Friday. Corvallis’ Cameron Ayers took an assist from DJ Pekoc to score at the 33-minute mark. Corvallis took 10 shots on goal while Billings Central had 15 shots. Shelby Gifford had six saves for Corvallis.
The Blue Devils topped Laurel, 8-2, on Saturday. Ayers again opened the scoring for Corvallis when he took a John Carmona pass and hit the goal at nine minutes. Nolan Grenfell scored at 20 minutes when he took an assist from Ayers and booted the goal. Ayers scored again at 33 minutes off of an Eli Carmona pass. Eli then turned around and took a pass from Ayers at 45 minutes and scored. Ayers scored twice more in the second half with assists from Josh Benema at 56 minutes and Grenfell at 76 minutes. Eli Carmona had two more assists, one at 55 minutes when he hit Pekoc for the goal and again at 66 minutes when he hit Benema for the final goal. Corvallis had 24 shots on goal while Laurel had six shots. Gifford had four saves.
Hamilton fell to Whitefish, 7-0.
The Corvallis girls fell Laurel, 8-4. Ayden Eickhoff scored the first goal off of a Katie Landis pass at 22 minutes. Eickhoff scored again at 25 minutes when Jessica Cassens shot her the ball. Laurel scored three more times and took the times and took the lead for good. Eickhoff scored again at the 45-minute mark and the 61-minute mark but it was not enough.
Billings Central topped the Corvallis girls, 7-0, and the Stevensville girls, 5-0.
