The Stevensville Yellowjackets blanked the Libby Loggers Friday night, 33-0. Jared Schultz hit four different receivers for five touchdowns in the non-conference game. The junior quarterback completed 26 of 40 passes. He hit Jesse Sims from 46 yards out for the first ‘Jacket score. Chris Bergman kicked the extra points and Stevensville was on their way. They scored once more in the first quarter when Austin Lords caught a six-yard pass from Schultz. Sims was the target once again in the second quarter, this time from four yards out and the Berman kick was good. Chance Coleman also caught a four-yard scoring pass in the second quarter. Zach Gavlak scored the final touchdown when he caught a seven-yard pass from Schultz in the fourth quarter. Bergman was good on the PAT.
Corvallis lost to Livingston, 57-8, in Livingston. Tanner Palin had a 10-yard scoring run for the lone Blue Devil touchdown. Cheney Waldo caught a pass from Branden Butt for the two-point conversion. Livingston had three players – Shanon Williams, Austin Carroll, and Jack Dowdell – who scored two touchdowns each. Daniel Fowler also scored for the Rangers.
Florence played Troy on Saturday night in Troy. The Falcons held the Trojans scoreless for three quarters while they put up 24 points in those three quarters. They then cruised on to score 20 more points in the final period for a 44-12 victory. Attacking from the air and the ground, the Falcons’ Aaron Ward opened up the scoring with an 83-yard romp in the second quarter. He then put another six on the board with a 10-yard touchdown run. Ward’s final score of the game was a 20-yard rushing score. Ward also hit Tommy Shepard from two yards out for the final score of the game. Derek Brown had scoring runs of five yards each to add to the Falcon’s score.
Tough defense and taking advantage of many opportunities led Darby to their first win of the season over the Lincoln Lynx. The Tigers won, 70-36, in a Western C scoring fest. Lincoln had five fumbles and three interceptions in the game. Darby’s Dillon Knox scored on runs of 20 yards, 40 yards, and 55 yards. Knox also caught a 20-yard pass from Joe Caicedo for six points and a rushing two-point conversion and a reception for a two-point conversion. Caicedo opened the scoring for the game with a 60-yard rushing touchdown. He also had three successful 2-point conversion attempts Caicedo also had a 10-yard scoring run, a 45-yard touchdown run and picked off a Lynx pass from 11 yards out for a pick six. Wolf scored on runs of 5 yards and five yards and a two-point conversion.
Philipsburg forfeited their game against Victor on Saturday. The Prospectors were not able to field a team due to injuries.
