As our tenth annual All Class Reunion took place June 30, 2012 in the old high school gym, it would be a good time to say thank you to the people who got it all started.
In approximately April 2003, after Gayle Tintzman talked with Mr. Dan Sybrant, Superintendent at the Corvallis school, who told Gayle about an all class reunion they held in Nebraska were he was from. After Gayle thought about it she started the action on getting it organized, sending letters to key members of each class which had graduated from CHS, doing a lot of calling and writing to many old friends.
The first meeting was July 19, 2003, with Ray Dunbar, Gayle Tintzman, LaVonne Miller, Tara Miller and Mavis Wilson. The next meeting was October 2003, with additional members joining and volunteering to help as the time has progressed. It took a lot of calling and recruiting. The first year was a great success, and each year it grows more and more. We had 205 in attendance for the 2012 reunion.
The first year of the reunion honored the members of the Class of 1932, with Madge Chaffin Buck and Donald Lamoreux as special guests. This year they honored the Scholarship winner Josh Parker, Dorothy Engler Smith from the Class of 1937 and special recognition of the State Basketball champions, Coach Max Blodgett and all of his boys.
A special thanks to Cathy Martin and her crew for the delicious meal. Once again, thank you Ray and Gayle for getting it organized and all the many volunteers. Come join us next year on June 29, 2013 with old classmates and old friends.
