The Bitterroot Blaze made short work of the Unitah Basin Oilers in the Rocky Mountain Football league’s Class AA semi final game in Darby on Saturday night. The Blaze scored early and often and never let up on defense to defeat the Oilers, 33-0. Erik Peterson opened the scoring for the Blaze with a 43-yard field goal. He added another 20-yard field goal later in the first quarter. Shane Jurasek threw three touchdown passes for the Blaze. He hit Adam Scolatti from four yards out and again later in the game from 27 yards out. Jurasek also hit Ceylon Elgin-Tayler on a 10 yard scoring play. Paul Stock rushed for a touchdown.
The Blaze will play the Idaho Matadors in Caldwell, Idaho, for the championship on Saturday. The Matadors defeated the Missoula Phoenix and ended the hope of an all Montana championship.
