Girl’s basketball roundup
The first quarter was the difference for the Lady Falcons of Florence in a non-conference game against Frenchtown. The Lady Broncs held Florence to only five points while scoring 19 points themselves and went on to win, 75-58. Florence rallied in the second quarter and outscored Frenchtown by 11 points. Rosie O’Brien had 15 points for the Lady Falcons and Kyndall Hoff added 10 more points.

Florence made a late surge to hold on to a 6B win over Deer Lodge in Deer Lodge on Saturday. The Lady Falcons relinquished the lead in the second quarter but came back for the win behind the shooting of Rosie O’Brien and Megan Byrne. O’Brien finished with 19 points and Byrne added 14.

Stevensville topped Dillon, 31-29, in Southwest A action. Alycia Sims poured in 21 points to take control of the game for Stevensville. The win capped a perfect week for the Lady Yellowjackets as they defeated Corvallis last Tuesday night.
Hamilton dropped a couple of close games over the weekend. Hellgate defeated Hamilton, 44-38, in non-conference action. Freshman Taylor Goligoski led the scoring for Hamilton with 16 points. Mary Conwell and Rebecka Hood added 8 and 7 points respectively. Hamilton lost to Anaconda, 42-40, on Saturday. The Lady Broncs just couldn’t overcome a strong fourth quarter by the Copperheads. Goligoski again had 16 points and Meghan Kratofil added 10 more.
Victor split their games this weekend. The Lady Pirates handily defeated Alberton, 54-34, on Friday. Shai Scheffer finished with 17 points and Ryanne Tracy added 12 more. On Saturday, the Lady Pirates lost by one point to Valley Christian, 39-38. The Victor team was coming on strong when time ran out. Tracy finished with 13 points and Scheffer had nine points. Skye Mitcham and Haley Tillotson each added eight points.
Darby lost to the always-tough Drummond Trojans in their first game of the weekend, 63-30. Julie Abrahamsen had 10 points to lead the Lady Tigers. Darby also lost to St. Regis, 49-45, in a close game. Halie Rennaker had 12 points and Brianna Massey added 10 in the game.
