Corvallis coach Jeff Nagel is hoping this will be a big year for his wrestling team. He said the team is loaded with talent at almost every weight class. This means each wrestler has a chance to practice against talented wrestlers at every practice, which will improve the team’s chances at the end of the season. However it also means that on any given day, one of the better wrestlers in the state may not even be competing at the varsity level.
Saturday was the annual Glyn Brawley Classic in Corvallis. The Blue Devils won their own tournament easily in the 10-team field. The Corvallis JVs finished in fourth place behind St. Ignatius-Charlo and Salmon. The Blue Devils won eight championships for the day.
