The Bitterroot Bucs finished third at the Missoula A Mavs tournament over the weekend with three wins and a loss. They opened their tournament by defeating the Post Falls Prairie Cardinals, 14-4. Cody Rolshoven was the starting pitcher and Billy Hanna was the catcher. Tyler White relieved Rolshoven in the fifth and Patrick Pape came in for Hanna in that inning. Zac Blackstun rallied after falling ill last Sunday to come back and bat 2-for-3 with two RBI triples. Austin Erler went 2-for-2 with a double and a triple and three RBIs. Tyler Thorson hit 2-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs. The Bucs scored 10 runs in the first inning.
They lost to the Great Falls Electrics, 7-1, in their next game. Justin Beierle was the starting pitcher. Erler went 2-for-3 with a double. Hanna hit a double to score Erler. The game was unique in that neither team had an error.
The Bucs ran over the Dillon Cubs, 14-4, on Sunday morning. Thorson had his first start at pitcher and notched the win. He pitched four and a third innings and struck out three batters. Aaron Gregg came in for the final two batters. Pape was the catcher. Hanna started things off with a two-run home run. He was 2-for-3 with three RBIs. Erler belted an in the park home run and was 1-for-1. Anderson went 2-for-3 with an RBI and Riley Philips was 2-for-3 at bat.
The Bucs finished their weekend with a win over the Mavs, 9-1. Philips was the winning pitcher with eight strikeouts, one walk and three hits. Coe Golden had a double and was 50 percent at bat. Erler had two RBIs and was 2-for-2. Hanna went 2-for-3 with two RBIs.
The Red Sox were in Kalispell at the John R. Harp Memorial Tournament. Jake Capko hit a two-run home run to power the Red Sox over the Glacier Twins, 10-3. Audie Anderson pitched a complete game that saw only three Glacier hits. Tucker Lehr had a triple that scored three runs to add to the total. No further Red Sox results were available at press time.
