INVITATION TO BID
RECEIPT OF BIDS: Sealed bids will be received by the Ravalli County Clerk and Recorder Office at 215 South Fourth Street, Suite C, Hamilton, Montana, 59840, until 1:00 p.m. local time on May 19th, 2011, for the construction of the “2011 Road Rehabilitation Project”.
SITE AND DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The work includes three general project areas of road rehabilitation within Ravalli County, MT as follows:
The first section of roadway rehabilitation includes 2.25 miles of Middle Burnt Fork Rd. from East Side Hwy (Hwy 269) east to South Burnt Fork Rd, immediately southeast of Stevensville, MT. This section includes approximately 1,500’ of 2.25-inch asphalt overlay, and 10,500’ of full depth reclamation and overlay. Work also includes approximately 800’ of new concrete curb and gutter and miscellaneous concrete work, 800’ of new 6’-wide asphalt trail, roadway shouldering, striping, and appurtenant work.
The second area of work includes 1.35 miles of Westside Rd. from West Bridge Rd south to approximately Owings Creek Rd, approximately 1.5 miles west of Hamilton, MT. This section includes 7,150’ of full depth reclamation and 2.25-inch asphalt overlay, to include excavation associated with widening and shifting the alignment of the existing roadway, general clearing and grubbing and fence removals, storm drainage and associated structures, approximately 1,070’ of guardrail installation, 2,640’ of concrete curb and gutter, 1,560’ of joint utility trench and general utility coordination, erosion control, roadway shouldering, signage, and appurtenant work.
The third area of work may be included as bid alternatives, and could include up to 1.5 miles of Westside Rd beginning at Roaring Lion Rd and working to the north. This section includes up to 8,250’ of full depth reclamation and 2.25-inch asphalt overlay, replacement of existing culverts, roadway shouldering, and appurtenant work.
PROJECT FINANCING: The 2011 Road Rehabilitation Project is funded through Ravalli County, and is subject to all applicable regulations as indicated within the specifications.
COMPLETION OF WORK: All work must be substantially completed within 90 calendar days after the commencement date stated in the Notice to Proceed. An additional 30 calendar days may be awarded with selected bid alternates.
OPENING OF BIDS: The bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at 2:00 p.m. on May 19th, 2011, by the Board of County Commissioners in the Commissioners’ Conference Room, 215 South Fourth Street, Suite A, Hamilton, MT 59840.
OBTAINING CONTRACT DOCUMENTS: The contract documents consisting of Drawings and a Project Manual may be examined or obtained at WGM Group, Inc., 1111 E. Broadway, Missoula, MT, 59802, (406) 728-4611. Copies of half-size sets of Drawings and Project Manual may be obtained upon paying a non-refundable fee of $50.00 each. Full-size drawings are not available for bidding. An additional charge of $10.00 will be applied for shipping and handling, if required.
BID SECURITY: Each Bid shall be accompanied by Bid Security made payable to OWNER in an amount of ten percent (10%) of the Bidder’s maximum Bid price.
BIDS TO REMAIN OPEN: The Bidder shall guarantee the Total Bid Price for a period of 60 calendar days from the date of bid opening.
Bidders are required to be licensed in accordance with and comply with the Public Contractors License Law of the State of Montana.

WAGE RATES: CONTRACTOR shall not pay less than the latest Montana Prevailing Wage Rates. A copy of said wage rates is included within the Project Manual.

OWNER’S RIGHTS RESERVED: OWNER reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any informality in a bid, or to accept the lowest responsive and responsible bid and bidder, and to make awards in the interest of OWNER. The low bid shall be determined on the basis of the lowest Basic Bid, or combination of Basic Bid and accepted Alternative Bids.
AWARD CONTINGENT: Without limiting the foregoing, it is expressly stated that final award of the Contract is contingent upon securing appropriate financing.

INVITATION TO BID
Ravalli County is accepting bids for construction of the Intoxilizer Room Addition at the Ravalli County Courthouse.
This Invitation to Bid solicits bids for the construction of an approximately 605 square foot addition to the southwest corner of the Ravalli County Courthouse Correctional Facility.
Copies of the construction documents can be obtained by calling CTA Architects Engineers at 406-728-9522. A refundable deposit of $50.00 is required. Copies of the construction documents will be available Wednesday, May 4, 2011.
Ravalli County reserves the right to reject any and all bids and if all bids are rejected, to re-advertise under the same of new specifications. Ravalli County reserves the right to waive any technicality or informality in the bidding process of a non-substantial nature.
A pre-bid meeting and walk through will be held on site on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in the Ravalli County Courthouse, southwest corner, at 205 Bedford Street, Hamilton, Montana.
This project shall comply will Prevailing Wage Rates, Affirmative Action, Montana Gross Receipts, Montana Preference as described in the bid documents.
The Owner, Ravalli County, may require the successful contractor to furnish a Performance Bond and a Labor and Material Payment Bond in the amount of 100% of the contract price.

ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS: SITE WORK – STEVENSVILLE PUBLIC SCHOOLS
Stevensville Elementary School District is soliciting sealed bids for construction of site work including grading and drainage structures, asphalt pavement, concrete walkways, fencing, and associated work. Beginning at noon on May 11, 2011 bid packets may be obtained from Scott Bruner at Swank Enterprises by phone: 406-752-5411; E-mail: scott@swankenterprises.com; or in person at 750 West Reserve Drive, Kalispell, MT 59901. No plan deposit will be required. No plans will be available from the School District.
This project utilizes the Construction Manager at Risk method, and Swank Enterprises of Kalispell has previously been selected as the Construction Manager. This project is offered with two bidding options. 1) Bidders who can provide the required bid and performance securities may bid directly to the School District. 2) Bidders who elect not to provide the required security documents may bid to Swank Enterprises as a subcontractor. Contact Swank Enterprises as described above for further information. All subcontracts, regardless of bidding method, will be performed under Swank Enterprises as the Construction Manager at Risk.
To be considered, sealed bids must be physically received no later than 4:00 PM local time on May 26, 2011 at the Stevensville School District at 300 Park Avenue, Stevensville, MT. No faxed or electronic bids will be accepted. Bidders who elect to bid as subcontractors to Swank Enterprises must coordinate and complete a separate private bidding process with Swank prior to the public bid opening. If your bid is responsive, Swank will submit your number as Swank’s bid with appropriate mark-ups. All bids, including those submitted by Swank, will be publicly opened, read aloud, and taken under consideration by the School District. No awards will be made at the bid opening. Bids must be honored for a period of 30 days after the bid opening. A bid tabulation will be made available as soon as is practical after the bid opening, including a tabulation of those bids made to Swank.
As required by State Law, bids submitted to the School District must be accompanied by a 10% bid security in an approved form. The successful bidder must provide a performance and payment bond in the amount of 100% of the contract amount as a condition of a successful contract execution, under Swank Enterprises. All workers who provide on-site labor must be paid no less than the current State of Montana Prevailing Wages or the current Federal Davis-Bacon Wages, whichever is greater. Wage scale requirements, effective at the time of bidding, are included in the bid packet. Certified payroll records will be required. This project is subject to the Montana State 1% Gross Receipts Tax. Successful bidders must possess a valid State of Montana Contractor Registration and must be able to provide insurance coverages in the types and amounts shown in the bid packet.
Successful bidders shall give employment preference to bona-fide residents of Montana. A Montana resident bidder will be allowed preference against the bid of a non-resident bidder from any state or county that enforces a preference for resident bidders. Contractors shall comply with the Rules of On-Site Conduct included in the project manual. Background checks will be required for all persons providing on site services. The Stevensville School District reserves the right to reject all bids, reject individual non-responsive bids, or award the bid to the lowest responsible bidder.
