Blue Devils clip Falcons

The Corvallis Blue Devils handed Florence their first loss of the season at the Frenchtown Invitational on Friday. Corvallis won, 13-9, in a game that saw a total of nine errors. Ashley Johnson pitched the win with Korie Conder on the catching end. Conder and Alex Price each had a double and two RBIs to lead the offense for the Blue Devils. Corvallis scored seven runs in the final inning to take the win from the Falcons.
Brittany Heinz had a double for the Falcons and was 2-for-2 at bat. Cassandra Skeers went 1-for-2 with two RBIs.

Florence bounced back to top Ronan, 9-3, in their second game of the day. Courtney Byrne pitched the entire game. She was also 1-for-3 at bat with an RBI. Hayley Coal went 2-for-3 with two RBIs.

Corvallis ran into a tough Libby team for their second game of the day. The Loggers scored five runs in the second inning and went on to win, 14-4. Alex Ewing was the pitcher for Corvallis. Ashely Johnson went 3-for-3 with a triple and three RBIs for the Devils. Conder had two doubles and an RBI.

Hamilton lost to Columbia Falls, 8-4. Liz Taylor Presley Chadwick and Candace Dunagan all had RBIs for the Broncs. The Broncs lost to Belgrade. Nicole Hood was 2-for-2 and had an RBI to lead the Broncs. Hamilton came back on Saturday and topped Whitefish, 21-7. Rebecka Hood and Nicole Hood each had a double. Nicole Hood had five RBIs while Rebecka had three. In their final game of the tournament, Florence topped Hamilton, 8-3. Liz Taylor had a double for Hamilton while Hayley Cole had one for the Falcons.

Florence topped Anaconda, 13-2. Courtney Byrne had a triple and Grace Zeiler had three RBIs.
Corvallis defeated Whitefish, 16-3. Tegan Elliot had a double and Alex Ewing and Korie Conder each had two RBIs. Corvallis lost, 7-6, to Columbia Falls for their final game of the tournament. The Wildkats scored three runs in the final inning to take the win.
