Bitter Root Back Country Horsemen host their monthly meeting on Thursday, June 21 at Como Lake’s 3 Sisters Group Camp. This camp is on the right side of the road across from the Rock Creek Horse Camp. Potluck dinner is served at 6:30 p.m. and the general meeting starts at 7 p.m. (Bring your own chair and beverage since this will be an outdoor meeting.) Program speaker will be Kelli Lutz, instructor at Aerie Backcountry Medicine in Missoula. She will explain how to treat environmental emergencies like heat and cold-related illnesses, wounds, allergies and weather concerns that rider and hikers may encounter.
Trail project leaders will preview the Crazy Creek project on June 23-24, Boulder Creek on July 6-7 and Willow Creek/Burn Fork on July 21st. Back Country Horsemen is a “boots on the ground” volunteer organization that works hard to keep trails clear and accessible for riders and hikers alike and welcomes guests and new members.
