One of the many pleasant things about living in Montana
is that, occasionally, you know someone personally who is running for political office. Kathleen Williams is running for Montana’s sole congressional seat. She is competing with four other Democrats in the primary to run against Greg Gianforte in November. I can tell you a few things about Kathleen.
To meet her is to be impressed with her intelligent and straightforward nature. She is not a political ideologue, which is refreshing. She is honest, open and does not pander to anyone. She asks a lot of questions and wants to know the facts. She does not operate in the arena of political clichés and over-simplistic jargon and she is open to good ideas from the other side of the aisle. She is progressive in that she is open to any ideas that will improve the situation for average folks.
Only in politics do you hear candidates claim they are best suited for the job because they have little experience. Williams is the only one who has job training and clearly has the best resume’. She has been elected to the Montana Legislature three times. She was vice-chair of the Taxation and Agriculture Committees in the Montana House of Representatives, positions that illustrate the trust others have in her. So she has done the hard work of legislating, not just talked about it!
She never aspired to be a millionaire; she has more important things to do. She won’t lie to you or send out inappropriate tweets, and I can assure you that she won’t beat anyone up during this campaign. Please join me in supporting Kathleen Williams for Congress.
